Media Center & STEAM Lab

The media center is truly a cornerstone at Hopkinson Elementary and houses the school library and instructional materials where all students can thrive and actively engage in their learning. As an extension of the classroom, students learn to gather and use information to develop research skills. The Media Center is staffed with a part time teacher and an instructional assistant who help children find information.  Valuable parent volunteers assist with clerical tasks. Student use of the Internet is strictly limited to programs approved by the teacher and additional programs are prevented from access through special firewalls.

Chromebook 1:1 Program

Hopkinson is in its sixth year of a 1:1 BYOD program for students in third through fifth grade.  Students in grades three through five practice a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) model of technology integration that supports their learning throughout the school day.

Teachers in our primary grades have a 2:1 ratio of iPads in classrooms that allows for them to integrate technology into their instruction with ease and facility.  We believe that transformational learning experiences created through technology best support core curriculum and we strive to prove and re-prove this daily.

The 1:1 program provides a home-school partnership.  The school provides an enhanced wireless network, secure storage and charging stations, and chromebooks for students who do not have their own device.
