After School Enrichment

Hopkinson Elementary School is proud to offer students the opportunity to attend fee-based after-school classes during the school year. Beginning in September and continuing throughout the year, students will be able to attend a variety of enrichment activities. Watch for detailed information on these programs in the weekly electronic "Take Home Tuesday".

The majority of after school classes are facilitated by the Los Alamitos Education Foundation (LAEF).  Current class listings and registration forms can be downloaded from their website. Instrumental Music Facilitated by The Youth Center

Students are introduced to string or wind instruments and may participate in the district Learner's Orchestra. This is a year-long program that begins in late September.  Students signed up for this program may join the Learner's Orchestra for an additional fee. Academic Chess Logo

Academic Chess Facilitated by Academic Chess Orange County

Students learn chess strategies that have kept chess a popular game for hundreds of years. Through lessons, workbooks, and mini-tournaments, kids are given the tools they need to become "Chessmonsters," the highest level an Academic Chess student can achieve. Winter and Spring sessions of chess are usually offered. To register, please pick up the flyer in the office.

MAD SCIENCE Facilitated by Mad Science-West Orange County

Mad Science offer hands-on, one-hour science programs are themed around a particular area of science and include such topics as electricity, magnetism, optics, biology and many more.
